Ailene has 30 years experience in Retail, with over 10 years in the charity sector in senior management roles. Having recently undertaken the NEBOSH, (Health and Safety National General Certificate) Ailene has the perfect combination of technical and legal Health and Safety knowledge, and how to apply that within a charity retail setting.



Summary: Health and Safety is a mandatory subject for all charity retailers. This course gives you an overview of how to manage H&S in a charity retail operation, with exercises and example materials to help embed learning.

  • Regulations around second hand selling of goods

Materials that you will need for the volunteer recruitment module

  1. Materials to complete the exercises (pen, paper etc)
  2. Access to existing Health and Safety notices and process in your shop
  3. A quiet space to complete the exercises
