As we reach the end of another Pride display competition, celebrating the sector’s creativity and diversity, we thought it would be timely to remind you of available training that can help to build a more inclusive charity retail offer.

Improving accessibility in charity shops

It can sometimes feel like a real challenge in charity retail to create an accessible space for people with disabilities. However, this webinar, delivered by AccessABLE shows that even some really small, low cost considerations can make a big difference. And even better – the webinar recording is free for you to watch.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for charity retailers

For a broad view covering a range of topics, there are two options for you:

Click-through course: Good practice in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) helps create respectful, inclusive and effective environments across charities and community organisations. This short course introduces key EDI concepts, explores everyday challenges such as unconscious bias and microaggressions, and supports delegates to build confidence in inclusive behaviours and constructive responses to discrimination.

Bespoke webinar/in person training: This 3 hour course offers a more in-depth look at EDI, including unconscious biases, microaggressions and allyship, and is a bespoke session tailored to your organisation’s needs. Content can be adapted to reflect your values, policies, workforce, volunteer base and the specific challenges you face.

Inclusive Visual Merchandising

Everything we do can help to communicate who ae are as an organisation, and where we stand in terms of welcoming and including everyone in our shops. This webinar recording gives VM tips and ideas to celebrate everyone in your community by implementing creative, cost effective window and in-store displays.
